Animal sanctuary saves five huskies from euthanasia
– San Luis Obispo County Animal Services recently delivered five Siberian Huskies to their forever home at From the Heart Animal Sanctuary. Leslie and Joe Thomas, owners of the sanctuary in Paso Robles, offered the huskies a forever home. If animal services could not find a home for them, they would have to euthanize the beautiful one-year-old huskies. Animal services does not have the capacity to shelter them, according to the shelter.
Cal Poly Student Dies After Suffering Medical Emergency 02.26.2024
A Cal Poly student died Friday night after suffering an apparent brain aneurysm shortly after having dinner with her family. According to a news release from the University, Sofia Padoan, a third-year nutrition major from Walnut Creek, had returned to her residence after the meal when she collapsed. She was rushed to the hospital emergency room, where she died.

Construction to Delay Traffic on Highway 46E – 02.26.2024
On Sunday, Caltrans began a project to resurface two-and-a-half miles of both directions of highway 46 East from just west of Highway 101 to just east of Airport Road. The project also includes “drainage improvements, guardrail improvements and modifications to traffic signals and lighting,” the release said. Drivers will encounter weekly, overnight closures on the highway on Sundays from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. and Mondays through Thursdays from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Travelers can expect delays of up to 10 minutes according to Caltrans.
In this publication, I will discuss the state of hiking in Paso Robles. Compared to other cities on the central coast we have significantly fewer hiking trails in Paso Robles. Our best, and debatably only, hiking trail in Paso is a flat two-mile looping trail in the Montebello Oaks open space in between Highway 46 and Union Rd. Other than that we only have the flat-as-a-pancake “River Trail” which follows Salinas River and has become occupied by the homeless population, or the two “Creak Walks” which are paved flat paths. One is located off of Rambouillet Rd, and the other off of Appaloosa Dr.
