Route 71 bridge repairs still on track for Memorial Day weekend
AVON-BY-THE-SEA — Mayor Edward Bonanno announced during the Monday, May 13 commissioners meeting that the Route 71/Main Street Bridge repairs are still on track to be completed by Memorial Day weekend, as long as everything continues to go according to plan. “We’ve been advised by the state Department of Transportation (DOT) that unless there’s some unforeseeable issue that arises, that they will get the bridge repair completed by Memorial Day,” said Mayor Bonanno.

WALL TOWNSHIP — Officials with the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) have announced their intention to improve the infrastructure of a roundabout in Wall. The project is aimed at improving safety at the intersection of Routes 33 and 34 and County Road (CR) 547/Asbury Road. This is due in part to the crash rate on the intersection compared to the state’s average for roadways similar to the roundabout.
