Dunlap High School senior killed in head-on crash in Peoria
A Dunlap High School senior was killed late Saturday night when her vehicle was involved in a head-on collision near the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex in northwest Peoria. Nevaeh Mitchell, 18, of Princeville, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in the 8400 block of North Orange Prairie Road at 12:27 a.m. Sunday. According to the Peoria County Coroner's Office, Mitchell had been driving north along Orange Prairie Road when her vehicle collided with one traveling southbound in the northbound lanes.
Bicyclist hit, killed Friday night in Henry County, Illinois
HENRY COUNTY, Ill. — A bicyclist is dead after being hit by a car Friday night near Kewanee, officials say. Deputies with the Henry County Sheriff's Office responded to the 3300 block of Route 34 around 10:30 p.m. on Friday where officials say a bicyclist was hit by a vehicle. According to a press release, the bicyclist was transported to a local hospital in Kewanee where they were pronounced deceased. The driver and passenger of the vehicle declined to receive medical attention at the scene.
