Former St. Francis football standout Bumphis transfers to BGSU

BOWLING GREEN — Former St. Francis de Sales standout Todd Bumphis will be returning to northwest Ohio to continue his college football career at Bowling Green State University.

The 6-foot, 198-pound cornerback appeared in 35 career games the past four seasons at the University of Cincinnati.

Bumphis totaled 16 tackles (12 solo) with one tackle for loss and one pass defended.

Bumphis, who will have one year of eligibility remaining, played in all 14 games as a reserve defensive back and special teams player during Cincinnati’s 2021 American Athletic Conference championship team that qualified for the College Football Playoff semifinals.

During his senior football season at St. Francis in 2019, Bumphis earned first-team All-Ohio in Division II as a defensive back. He helped the Knights finish 6-5 overall, including an appearance in the OHSAA Division II, Region 7 playoffs.
