Second Harvest Food Bank food program sites open
NEW ORLEANS — Second Harvest Food Bank announced where children age 18 or younger can get free meals for the summer. The effort is apart of the Summer Food Service Program, which is a federally-funded program that gives free, nutritious meals for children living in low-income areas or pockets of poverty during the summer when school is out.

One in custody after New Orleans police chase suspects Uptown, police say
New Orleans police have arrested one suspect in a Tuesday afternoon police chase which began in Central City and ended Uptown near the Jefferson Parish line. Police established a perimeter to search for the alleged perpetrators, but they had left the scene by 6:30 p.m. Tuesday with one person in custody. The suspect, Jabari Payton, 18, was charged with illegal possession of an auto, illegal possession of a machine gun and two counts of illegal carrying of a firearm. Police say the car in his possession was stolen Monday. Another suspect remains at large.
