The state track meet is just four days away, and team’s like Bottineau hope to make a splash on the state stage.

The Braves and Stars each have a handful of state qualifiers in various events. Throughout this season, Kylie Simpson, Carson Haerer and Khaliel Abdurrahman have all set school records in field events.

The teams success continued into this week’s regional meet as well, where the Braves and Stars both finished in the top two of the team scores.

While Bottineau has high hopes for top finishes at state, the team also enjoys the change of pace the track season brings as they make strides towards goals and cementing their names in school history.

It’s just fun to hang around the people in track and stuff, it’s a good time. In track you can kind of chill out a bit and have some more fun,” Abdurrahman said.

Yeah it’s really cool to watch them do that, because they work so hard and it’s really cool to watch them succeed,” Sophomore Hallie Nero said.
