The Boston Red Sox, after dealing with a ton of injuries early on in the season, are starting to get their impact players back.

On Wednesday, Red Sox pitcher Garrett Whitlock made a rehab start for Triple-A Worcester, and he looked sharp. In 4 2/3 innings, Whitlock allowed just two hits and a walk while striking out five. His sinker averaged 93 mph and topped out at 94.8.

Boston's pitching hasn't been the problem so far this season, but it will be nice to have Whitlock back as a versatile weapon that can pitch in the rotation or out of the bullpen.

It's unclear whether or not he'll need another rehab start, but if he does come up, there's a chance that the Red Sox allow Tanner Houck, who just threw a career-high 112 pitches on Wednesday to get an extra day of rest, according to manager Alex Cora.

Now, they'll just need to find a way to get some production from their bats.
