North Carolina delivery driver repeatedly called, sent explicit messages to customer in South Carolina, deputies say
Deputies arrested an Insta-Cart driver on Sunday after being accused of harassing a person after the driver delivered her groceries. According to Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, 41-year-old Alan Craig Parker delivered groceries to a victim's residence in Blacksburg, South Carolina. Parker received the victim's phone number through Insta-Cart, a delivery service app, while delivering groceries to the victim. On March 6, the suspect began to send sexually explicit messages and images to the victim. The victim asked not to be contacted and blocked the phone number.
Burke County officer who crashed into house will retire, police chief says
BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — A Burke County police officer is officially retiring after he was placed on administrative leave for crashing into a house last month, officials said. The Glen Alpine Police Department confirmed that 77-year-old Capt. William Boliek was placed on administrative leave in connection with crashing into a house on Pea Ridge Street in May. Chief Rodney Cox said Boliek meant to hit his brakes but pressed the accelerator instead. No citations were issued in connection with the crash.
