Rock Port superintendent reacts to Missouri education bill
(Rock Port) -- At least one KMAland administrator is expressing mixed emotions over an omnibus education bill approved in the Missouri Legislature. Passing by a 82-69 vote late last week, the bill contains a wide spectrum of components, including increasing the income level for the MOScholars Education Scholarships so that more students and families will qualify, and allowing charter schools in Boone County, Missouri. While saying he supports some parts of the bill, Rock Port R-2 School Superintendent Dr. Rex Bollinger says he's not in favor of language regarding school vouchers or charter schools. Bollinger also expressed concerns over the size of the bill in an interview with KMA's "Morning Line" program.
