JACKSON, Miss. — The Jackson Fire Department finally said goodbye to the old Fire Station No. 20. Crews started tearing down the old fire station Monday morning on Medgar Evers Boulevard. The new Fire Station No. 20 is next door, so firefighters came out to watch the demolition. For veterans of the department, it's tough saying goodbye to a place they called home for so many years.
City of Pearl still recovering following last week’s deadly storms

At a meeting of the Jackson City Council's Public Safety and Parks Committee, talks were had of bringing back the now defunct patrol unit. Chief of the Jackson Police Department Joseph Wade said he had discussions with officers interested in saddling back up again.

Jackson Prep wins in walk-off fashion in game one of MAIS 6A Championship
FLOWOOD, Miss. (WLBT) - The Jackson Prep bats were held in check for most of the evening by the PCS pitching staff. Through five innings, the Patriots were scoreless with just one hit, but only down 1-0. Prep tied the game in the sixth inning, thanks to a Tre’ Bryant RBI ground out that scored Konnor Griffin. However, the Bobcats took the lead back in the top of the seventh.
