DCU Center in Worcester gets to keep its name for now
The DCU Center in Downtown Worcester will retain its name for another three years, according to the center’s Director of Marketing John LaHair. In an email sent on to MassLive, LaHair announced the City of Worcester, Digital Federal Credit Union (DCU) and the arena’s managers, ASM Global, agreed this week to a $1.8 million deal that extends the renaming rights of the arena and convention center until June 2027. The renaming rights of the arena were set to expire by the end of this year as part of an initial 10-year agreement made by the three entities in 2014. With the newly announced three-year extension, LaHair said the arena will keep its name and branding. He added that the deal also allows DCU to extend the renaming rights for another seven years.
