70-year-old motorcyclist dies after crash in Bolton

BOLTON, Conn. (WTNH) – Connecticut State Police officials say a motorcyclist from Vernon died Wednesday after sustaining injuries in a crash on West Street.

The driver was identified as 70-year-old Michael Demers in a police report.

Troopers responded to the scene of Route 85 near West Street around 5 p.m.

They determined a Suzuki motorcycle was traveling northbound on West Street when a Toyota Highlander traveling southbound on Route 85 made a left turn into the motorcycle’s path.

The motorcycle crashed into the rear side of the vehicle and the impact ejected the driver, causing life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Police said the motorcyclist was transported to Hartford Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
