Fort Bend nonprofits present plan for center that would serve parents, young adults at risk of homelessness
The Flourishment Center will be located at a former church building in Rosenberg and hopes to open its doors in May or June of next year. A group of nonprofits is months away from breaking ground on a new center for parents and young adults at risk of homelessness in Fort Bend County.
Rosenberg opens green waste collection site through Saturday
ROSENBERG, Texas (CW39) – The Green Waste Collection Site, established for citizens and businesses to drop off vegetative debris from Hurricane Beryl, will close to the public on Saturday, July 27 at 5 p.m. Citizens and businesses that have debris, that they would like to dispose of prior to curbside collection, have the option to use the site from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day through Saturday.

The aftermath of Beryl can be seen up and down almost every street in Richmond. There were more than several huge trees that were blown down. Some of those trees must have been planted in the 1800s. I stopped to look at one that had been cut up and was in the wood pile in front of a house. As I began to count the rings to see the age of the tree, I was attacked by so many mosquitoes that I decided to take a picture of the stump and count them when I got home. I’ll let you know how many rings I count!
