Homedale took the lead on a wild pitch in the third inning, then extended the lead to 3-1 later in the inning on a passed ball.

SUGAR-SALEM 4, FRUITLAND 3: Seven different Fruitland batters accounted for 10 hits, but the Grizzlies couldn’t string enough of them together as they fell in the state semifinals.

PARMA 9, MARSH VALLEY 6: Parma scored eight runs in the top of the seventh inning to keep its season alive and advance to the state consolation championship.

Trailing 6-1 entering the final frame, the Panthers got a groundout to start the inning but after loading the bases, Kaydn Brenneck was hit by a pitch and Ethan Obenchain and Silas King both drew walks to bring in runs.

A line drive by Jacob Mikelson drove in two runs and tied the score at 6. A fielder’s choice gave Parma the lead and Braxton Heffelfinger drove in two insurance runs with a single.
