Boise shut down a ‘deplorable’ motel. Now, it’s for sale
A motel the city of Boise shut down for “deplorable” living conditions is now on the market. The Travelers Motel is located on Fairview Ave. It was shut down in July 2023 after fire inspectors found black mold, rotting floors, electrical issues, insect infestations, no running water, feces, vomit, and a myriad of other conditions, which led to the inspectors classifying the motel as “unfit for habitation.”
High school plant sales give Boise horticulture students a chance to show off
Every spring, students plant thousands of plants, everything from tomatoes to peppers to flowers and herbs, as part of horticulture classes at Boise area high schools. The kids grow the better known varieties of plants like Romas and Beefsteak, but they also get to experiment with tomatoes with names like Boxcar Willie, Siberian Cool Weather and Brandywine Pink.
