DPS: 50-year-old dead after crash after driver falls asleep at the wheel
GATESVILLE, Coryell County — A Gatesville woman is dead after a head-on crash Monday evening with a driver that fell asleep behind the wheel, according to Texas DPS. The accident occurred in the 12000 block of Highway 84 east of Gatesville, and DPS officers were notified of the crash around 9:25 p.m.
Special brush pickup set for this week
The City of Whitney has announced special brush pickup dates due to recent storms that have led to downed trees and large limbs. G&B Services will pick up debris in the city Thursday, June 6, and Friday, June 7. All pieces must be smaller than eight inches around, no longer than four feet and no more than 40 pounds.
Enrichment group plans cleanup initiatives
The City of Whitney’s Community Enrichment Group met Thursday, May 30, and discussed upcoming initiatives to clean up the city and assist citizens. Among the items discussed were new monthly dump days for Whitney residents at the Itasca landfill, storm cleanup efforts with G&B Services and city crews, a city-wide cleanup set for later this month and other projects that are still in the works.

CLIFTON, Texas (FOX 44) – The Clifton Independent School District is taking on a highly controversial policy surrounding students’ biological sex. The policy states district employees, including educators and other district staff, shall not encourage, discourage or require the use of pronouns which are inconsistent with a student’s or other person’s biological sex as it appears on the individual’s birth certificate.
