Controlled Burns Happening Along Highway 10 Near Perham and New York Mills Today
DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The Minnesota Department of Transportation will be conducting prescribed burns along Highway 10 in areas east of Perham and near New York Mills on Monday, Feb. 26, weather permitting. Traffic will be directed to slow down in the area, but all roads will remain open.
Camper Engulfed in Flames Near Deer Creek
At around 5 o’clock Friday evening, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a camper fire on 565th Ave, just Southeast of Deer Creek, MN. At around 3:11 early Tuesday morning (February 20th), the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call regarding a domestic incident in Battle Lake. The caller reported that she had been in a verbal argument with her 28-year-old boyfriend when he broke her cell phone, grabbed her by the neck, and drug her out of the room.

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE (WJON News) -- A Todd County man has won a service award from the National Wild Turkey Federation. Ralph Warzecha of Eagle Bend was presented the Roger M. Latham Sportsman Wild Turkey Service Award for his conservation and outreach efforts. He received the award recently at the 48th annual Convention and Sport Show in Nashville, Tennessee.
Hornets Hold on for 2 Point Win Over Rockets at Target Center
Henning held on for a 69-67 victory over Underwood in a high school boys’ basketball game at Target Center on Saturday afternoon. The Hornets led 38-25 at the half. “We were fortunate to win today,” said Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “Underwood is a good team and they were really efficient in the second half, offensively. We were awful defensively in the second half. But we got one big stop on the last possession with the game tied and converted a layup on the other end to pull out the win.”
Perham Wins Battle of State Ranked Teams at Duluth Marshall
Two state-ranked teams clashed on Friday night at Marshall High School in Duluth with the Perham girls’ basketball team coming out on top 75-69 against Duluth Marshall. The Hilltoppers made 11 three-pointers on 23 attempts in the first half to build a 47-34 lead. Bad shots, turnovers, a pair of shot clock violations, and many balls deflected out of bounds, resulted in Duluth Marshall scoring only 22 second half points.
