Catawissa, Pa. — Locust Township Police Department is asking for the public's help related to a suspicious incident on May 1st. Links and learning are coming together at Danville golf course
Danville, Pa. — Frosty Valley Resort will become an open air laboratory for Danville School District students this May through the "First Green" outreach program. During the event on May 15 (rain date May 16), fifth grade students will rotate through learning stations around the resort. Lessons will include calculating measurements of area and volume on the course; analyzing different soils and seeds; learning about and trying out technology used on golf courses; and of course, participating in some golf activities. First Green is presented by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.
Woman charged for repeated 911 calls
Orangeville, Pa. — A 63-year-old woman was charged after she called 911 multiple times without reporting an emergency, police say. Darla Moore of Orangeville began calling the 911 center on March 18 at 8 p.m. and continued making multiple non-emergency calls until the following day at 4 a.m., according to Trp. Paul Kelly of state police at Bloomsburg. Police say Moore was warned to stop calling the center unless she was reporting an emergency, but she persisted and was charged with making false reports.
Former factory employee accused of stealing coworker's truck
Northumberland, Pa. — A former employee at Bimbo Bakeries in Northumberland is accused of returning to the business and stealing a coworker's truck just days after he was terminated. Shane Stephen Hobbs, 34, of Selinsgrove, allegedly went to the factory property the morning of April 30 and took a Chevrolet Trailblazer truck without permission.
