    Theft:

    04/22/2024-Officers responded to 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) on  report of shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a  known male shoplifter placed several cleaning products into a bag and attempted to exit without paying. The Loss Prevention Officer approached the male and he returned the items. Upon exiting the store, the male took another bag that was hidden in the store and left without paying. The items were valued at $253.00. This incident is under  investigation.

    04/22/2024-Wanda Ollie age 47 of Orange, NJ. Officers responded to  8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop) on report of a Shoplifting. According  to the Loss Prevention Officer, a female concealed multiple grocery  items in a shopping bag and attempted to leave the store without paying.  The items were valued at $75.32. Officers placed the suspect under  arrest and transported her to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to be  processed accordingly.

    04/23/2024-Joseph Amico age 32 of Dumont, NJ. Officers responded  to 60 Orange Street (Home Depot) on report of a Shoplifting.  According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a male concealed multiple  cleaning products in a bag and attempted to leave the store without  paying. The items were valued at $56.21. Officers placed the suspect  under arrest and transported him to Bloomfield Police Headquarters to  be processed accordingly.

    04/24/2024-Officers responded to 60 Orange Street (Home Depot) on  report of a Shoplifting. According to the Loss Prevention Officer, a  male purchased a Ryobi lawnmower. The male was accompanied by a  female who waited by the exit with the same lawnmower. The male and  female then exited with the second lawnmower without paying. The item  was valued at $500.00. This incident is under investigation.

    04/24/2024-Officers responded to the 200 block of Davey Street on  report of a Package Theft. A resident received a notification that a  package was delivered to his apartment. When the resident went to  retrieve the package, it was missing. The package contained sneakers  valued at $200.00. This incident is under investigation.

    04/24/2024-Officers responded to the 400 block of Abington Avenue on report of a Package Theft. A resident provided video surveillance of an unknown individual taking a package from his front steps between  8:00p.m. and 8:10p.m. The package contained curtains valued at $70.00. This incident is under investigation.

    04/25/2024-Officers responded to the 100 block of Cleveland Terrace on report of a Theft from Auto. The complainant noticed the rear  passenger window of her vehicle was broken. The vehicle also had pry  marks on the door frame. The vehicle was rummaged through but  nothing was missing. This incident is under investigation.

    04/25/2024-Officers responded to the 300 block of Memorial Parkway on report of a Package Theft. A resident had a package delivered on  04/22/2024. However, when he went to retrieve it, it was missing. The  package contained a color printer valued at $300.00. This incident is  under investigation.

    04/26/2024-Officers responded to the area of Van Winkle Street on  report of a Package Theft. A resident had two packages delivered on  04/20/2024. Surveillance video shows a male taking the packages from  the front steps of the apartment building. The packages contained three EZ-Pass transponders. This incident is under investigation.

    04/26/2024-Officers responded to 77 Bloomfield Avenue (Walgreen’s) on report of a Shoplifting. According to the store manager, a male  concealed shampoo products in a reusable bag and left the store without  paying. The items were valued at $250.00. This incident is under  investigation.

    04/27/2024-Tequaryn Warren age 51 of Montclair, NJ. Officers  responded to 60 Orange Street (Home Depot) on report of shoplifting. A detective detained a female who attempted to leave the  store with two bottles of laundry detergent without paying. The items  were valued at $44.94. The suspect was transported to Bloomfield Police  Headquarters to be processed accordingly.

    04/28/2024-Officers responded to 244 Bloomfield Avenue (Aldi’s) on a report of a Shoplifting. According to a store employee, a male took  three bottles of laundry detergent and left the store without paying. The  items were valued at $225.00. This incident is under investigation.

    Motor Vehicle Theft:

    04/22/2024-Officers responded to the area of Pulaski Street on report  of a Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident parked his vehicle on the street  overnight and when he returned to it the following morning, it was  missing. The vehicle, a 2017 black Honda Civic, was entered as stolen.  This incident is under investigation.

    Notable Arrests from Previous Investigations:

    04/15/2024-Jermaine Rabb age 43 of Newark, NJ. Mr. Rabb was arrested on a warrant resulting from a Shoplifting incident which occurred on 03/25/2024 at Walgreen’s located at 77  Bloomfield Avenue.

    04/20/2024-Janicah Cadet age 27 of Bloomfield, NJ & Juhad  Whitehead age 37 of Edison, NJ. Ms. Cadet and Mr. Whitehead were both arrested on warrants resulting  from several shoplifting incidents which occurred over the course of  one year at 7-Eleven located at 630 Bloomfield Avenue.

    04/22/2024-Mecca Thomas age 33 of Newark, NJ. Ms. Thomas was arrested for Theft by Deception and Counterfeit Checks resulting from an investigation of a Fraud which occurred on  04/09/2024 at United Check Cashing located at 239 Bloomfield  Avenue.

    04/25/2024-Jahaad Lewis age 19 of Teaneck, NJ.

    Mr. Lewis was arrested for Receiving Stolen Property (Motor  Vehicle) resulting from an investigation into a Motor Vehicle Theft  which occurred on 10/14/2023 at 121 West Passaic Avenue.

    04/25/2024-Dreckson Ruiz age 27 of East Orange, NJ. Mr. Ruiz was arrested on a summons resulting from an investigation into  a Criminal Mischief incident which occurred on 04/21/2024 at 122  Bloomfield Avenue.

    04/25/2024-Lyndale Lyle age 41 of Irvington, NJ. Mr. Lyle was arrested on a warrant resulting from a Shoplifting incident  which occurred on 04/15/2024 at Home Depot located at 60 Orange  Street.

    04/26/2024-Yazeem Lovett age 27 of Bloomfield, NJ. Mr. Lovett was arrested for a Package Theft resulting from an incident which occurred on 04/20/2024 at Walgreen’s located at 1 Van Winkle  Street.
