EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - Authorities responded to the WEAU 13 News building on Monday for a potentially hazardous substance in an envelope. According to a press release from the Eau Claire Fire Department, on May 20, 2024, at 2:16 p.m., the Eau Claire Fire Department was requested to respond to 1907 South Hastings Way for a hazardous materials investigation of an unknown substance.

Summer trapping rendezvous June 7-8 in Bloomer
The Wisconsin Trappers Association District 2 will be hosting its annual rendezvous at the Bloomer Rod & Gun Club. The event, which is open to the public and free of charge, is noon to 6 p.m. Friday, June 7, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 8. Activities include trapping demos, raffles, silent auctions, kid’s activities and vendor displays. Food and drink are available for purchase. Bring the family to either or both days. Police: Man arrested after spotted entering toilet with juvenile
EAU CLAIRE — Police say they arrested a man near the Forest Street Community Garden after he appeared to coerce a younger person into a portable toilet. When officers approached, according to a press release, the toilet was locked. They knocked and announced who they were and Ray Jackson, 36, no fixed address, exited. While Jackson attempted to prevent officers from seeing inside the toilet, they spotted another person. Authorities said it was “obvious this person was a juvenile.” ...
