The following information is provided by Ponca City police. At 2:08 a.m. police responded to Lake and Pecan for a report of gunshots. Callers from the 100 block of Viola and the 500 block of east Detroit then reported hearing shots as did callers in the 1000 block of north 7th Street and the 400 block of Virgina. Callers in the 500 block of north 11th, 1700 block of Cedar and 7th and Highland also reported hearing gunfire. Police said they made contact with some who were uncooperative.

Blackwell man charged with murder in fentanyl overdose death
NEWKIRK — A Blackwell man is facing a first degree murder charge in the death of 36-year-old Kasey Joe Hall, who officials report died from a fentanyl overdose. Timothy Justin Braden, 39, Blackwell is facing felony charges of murder, manufacture, possession and or use explosives with out a permit, unlawful possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and a misdemeanor count of drug paraphernalia.
