BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — A man was arrested in Bismarck this weekend after a bizarre incident in the middle of the road.

It happened along W Century Ave. around 11:30 p.m. on May 18. Bismarck police say they saw a man trying to push a Bird scooter in the middle of the road to get it to move, causing traffic to swerve around him. Police tried talking to the man, but say he ignored them, and tried walking away while heavily intoxicated.

They say the man told them his name was Michael Bailey, that he violently resisted arrest even after police used a substantial amount of force, and that he tried taking the gun of a Police Sergeant.

Police ran and found the man’s ID — which said his name was Michael Henry — and found he had an active warrant from Natrona, Wyoming. Wyoming has confirmed that they will extradite Bailey from North Dakota.

Henry is now being charged with attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer and preventing arrest, both Class C felonies. He is also being charged with providing false information to law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor.

Henry was in court on May 20, where a judge set his bond at $20,000 cash. He has a preliminary hearing set for next month, and a felony trial set for September.
