The Blair County coroner's office is getting some new equipment for its facility. The office now has metal identification badges and carrying cases. Back in November, thirteen metal badges and carrying cases were purchased for each deputy. The badges were delivered and issued last week.

Boys capture win on senior night
The Bellwood-Antis boys basketball team hosted their senior night on February 9, matching up against Phillipsburg-Osceola and earning a 53-48 win. Philipsburg got out to the first 3 points of the game before Conner Bardell responded with an easy layup on a fast break. From there on it was back and forth throughout the rest of the first half. St. Matthew Catholic School raises money for Miracle League of Blair County
TYRONE, Pa. (WTAJ) — Students from the Saint Mattew Catholic School in Tyrone raised money of the Christmas season to donate to the Miracle League of Blair County. Students created a ‘Christmas Bazaar’ where other students could shop for gift items for friends and family. The kids learned about the different aspects of what it takes to run a business, and then they chose a local charity to donate to. The Miracle League of Blair County is an organization that creates accommodations and resources for kids with special needs to have the opportunity to play baseball. They do their best to create a sense of normalcy, so everyone has an opportunity to play.

Philipsburg, Pa. — A woman sold seven pills to an informant while detectives watched and followed. Ashlee Lynne Duckett, 39, of Bigler met the person in January of last year in the 1400 block of the Port Matilda Highway in Philipsburg, Detective Christopher Federinko said. Huntingdon Valley truck driver killed in NJ Turnpike crash
A 30-year-old man from Huntingdon Valley was killed when his truck collided with a semi-trailer along the NJ Turnpike in Bordentown Township early Sunday morning. According to police, the crash happened at about 4:30am on February 18. The truck, a Volvo bobtail, traveled off the road, collided with the sound barrier, and became engulfed in flames.
