Winners of CahabaQue’s spring 2024 cook-off announced

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The winners of the Spring CahabaQue BBQ Cook-Off were announced Friday by the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama (BCRFA).

The event raised $31,337 for breast cancer research in Alabama. The biannual event, held on April 15, drew roughly 1,300 guests to Cahaba Brewing Company in Birmingham. The next CahabaQue will be held on October 5.

The Spring 2024 winners were:

Since 2013, CahabaQue has raised over $288,000 for BCRFA, which estimates that 4,500 Alabama women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year alone.

“We are incredibly grateful for our long-standing partnership with Cahaba Brewing Company, who have generously supported us in our fight against breast cancer,” Beth Davis, BCRFA President & CEO stated in a press release. “With the help of our sponsors, guests, cook teams, and volunteers, we are taking meaningful steps towards improving breast cancer diagnostics, treatments, and prevention methods, and ultimately eradicating this disease.”
