BINGHAMTON, NY (WIVT/WBGH) – A free, outdoor, summer concert series on the Southside of Binghamton is having its first show this Sunday.

The Southside Neighborhood Assembly is hosting the 4th year of its Second Sunday’s concert series at Southside Commons Park.

On the second Sunday from now to August, a different local group will be performing from 2 to 4 at the Southside Commons.

This Sunday, along with being Mother’s Day, kicks off the concert series with Dan Fluegel and Wreckless Marci.

The concerts are free to attend.

Event Chair Phil Guidici encourages people to pack a lunch and bring a lawn chair.

Entertainment Chair with the Southside Neighborhood Assembly, Phil Guidici says, “We’re trying to engage the community on the Southside as well as the rest of Binghamton. We encourage people to come out, have a good time and listen to some great music. I just think its a healthy thing for the community to have music down here.”

The month of June will feature Mike Hampton and Friends from Parker Music Studio along with the Gravelding Brothers, followed by The Devon Lawton Band and the Binghamton High School Juice Blenders steel drum band in July, and closing out with Bass and Brown, featuring a special performance from The Voice contestant, Alyssa Crosby.
