Class of 2024 inducted into Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – The 9th annual Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame Induction Dinner was hosted on Monday, celebrating the Class of 2024.

13 new members were celebrated, the festivities included the Guest Speaker, Carl Banks, the former New York Giants Linebacker.

Banks spoke with the media prior to the dinner, giving his thoughts on the Hall of Fame induction and the celebration of our local sports legends.

“I think it’s been great,” Banks said. “It’s such an honor, number 1, for me to be here and be able to speak on a special night like this, but the town of Binghamton and the people have been just incredibly enthusiastic about the inductees and just so proud to have this hall of fame and this induction.”

This year’s Class covers at least 8 different sports with the 13 new members, bringing the total to 112 individuals and 4 teams.

Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame President, Tony Quagliata, talked about another successful induction dinner to celebrate the newest members that are being honored.

“Tremendous amount of people, another excellent, excellent class, the 2024 class,” Quagliata said. “Outstanding, 12 people, and 1 horse, Exterminator, as I’m sure the public already knows.”

Exterminator is the first horse to be inducted into the Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame, congratulations to all of the newest members that were honored tonight.

Next year’s 10th annual Hall of Fame induction dinner has already been scheduled for Monday, April 28th.
