    Multiple people arrested following Binghamton shooting

    BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – Multiple people were arrested on Saturday following a shooting in downtown Binghamton.

    On April 27, at approximately 6 a.m., an officer reported hearing up to 10 gunshots in the downtown area. Shortly after, police responded to 100 Susquehanna Street building A-5, and determined that a shooting had occurred.

    During an investigation, officers determined that two men were shooting at each other in the area. Officers also believed that one of the suspects was in apartment A-5. It was later determined that occupants of apartment A-5 exited the building and began picking up shell casings in the area after the shooting.

    With help from the Metro SWAT Team, a search warrant was executed at the location. While executing the search warrant, Lamont Weaver, 20, Lytiek Gadson, 25, and a 17-year-old male were taken into custody for their involvement in the shooting.

    Weaver was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree and Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree. Gadson and the 17-year-old male were both charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence.

    During the search warrant execution, several individuals arrived on the scene and became hostile toward police.

    Due to the disturbances, India Tombs, 18, was charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration. Additionally, a 17-year-old female and a 16-year-old female were both charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.

    Weaver was arraigned and remanded to the Broome County Jail. The other adult arrestees were released and issued appearance tickets. The juveniles were released to their guardians.
