Maple Lake resident John Rivers appeared in the Maple Lake City Council public forum to argue that vermin in Maple Lake with junk yards are destroying his property values and should have their property bulldozed (my residence and museum) for starters. Mr. Rivers owns a mega mansion south of town and these are the property values for that property:

Kleinhans chairing Sherburne County parks committee
Dean Kleinhans has been named chair of the new Sherburne County Parks and Trails Advisory Committee and James Bedell is the vice chair. The Sherburne County Board of Commissioners established the committee in November and appointed seven members to it in January. Establishing the committee was a recommendation of the county’s new Parks and Trails Comprehensive Plan. In a related matter, the County Board on May 7 appointed Lucinda Meyers, of Palmer Township, as the District 4 representative to the parks and trails committee, after the previous appointee was no longer able to serve.
Corcoran looks to fill vacant council seat
At its May 9 meeting, the Corcoran City Council considered its next steps in filling a vacancy on the council. Councilmember Alan Schultz resigned effective April 30, and the City Council voted for Mark Lanterman to be the interim member who fills the seat. District 728 Community Education has some new classes coming up soon. They include: • Brims & Brews: Tuesday, June 4, 6-9 p.m. Pour Cocktail Bar and Bites, Otsego. Gypsy Creek Artisan Boutique is bringing its hat bar to Otsego. An artist will guide participants in decorating, burning and accessorizing a trendy felt hat. Registration fee includes the hat, two ribbon bands, charm, feather and one design burning. Class fee: $69. Additional hat items will be available for purchase.
