A crash occurred on May 27, 2024, at 11:40 a.m. on Highway 61, two miles north of Hannibal, Missouri, resulting in minor injuries to both drivers involved. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Angela C. Libby, 51, of Drummonds, Tennessee, was driving a 2024 GMC Terrain eastbound when her vehicle collided with a southbound 2012 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Kathy L. Salsman, 52, of Hannibal, Missouri.
Monroe City woman killed in one-vehicle traffic accident Sunday morning on U.S. 61 near Palmyra
MONROE CITY, Mo. — A Monroe City woman was killed in a one-vehicle traffic accident early Sunday morning. A 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Crystal Hooper, 37, of Monroe City was southbound on U.S. 61, two miles north of Palmyra, when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned, ejecting Hooper. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to a report filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Keokuk man seriously injured after four-wheeler overturns Sunday night in Lewis County
LaBELLE, Mo. — A Keokuk, Iowa, man suffered serious injuries in a crash on a four-wheeler Sunday night. A 2020 Polaris RZR, driven by Joseph Recor, 26, of Keokuk, was northbound on Route K, three miles north of LaBelle, when it overturned while Recor was trying to make a U-turn. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Recor was transported by Air Evac helicopter to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

Fatal accident on Highway 61 claims Monroe City woman’s life
A single-vehicle accident on Highway 61, two miles north of Palmyra, resulted in the death of Crystal P. Hooper, 37, of Monroe City, early Sunday morning. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 2:02 a.m. on May 26, 2024. Hooper was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe southbound when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned. Hooper was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene by Marion County Paramedic B. Schrage at 2:15 a.m. Hooper was not wearing a seat belt.

SHELBY COUNTY, Mo. — Two young Edina residents were hurt in a one-vehicle accident. It happened at 6:20 Sunday morning in Shelby County. According to a crash report on the Missouri State Highway Patrol's website, a 17-year-old boy from Edina was driving northbound on Highway 151, 5 miles north of Clarence, when he lost control of the car on the wet roadway.
