Derrik Maye of Peshtigo High School named Green Bay Packers High School Coach of the Week
The Green Bay Packers have announced that Derrik Maye of Peshtigo High School in Peshtigo, Wis., has been named the Packers High School Coach of the Week. Coach Maye, in his first season as head coach at Peshtigo, has the Bulldogs ready for Level 1 of the WIAA Playoffs and is seeking their first playoff win since 2009. After winning just six games combined over the previous three seasons, the Bulldogs finished the regular season 5-4 in a tough Packerland Conference. Maye and his staff look to build on this impressive turnaround while continuing to instill a positive culture throughout the program.

Historical walk-through of campus buildings
Each building on campus is seen as a historical landmark. From the dorms to lecture halls, each has held thousands and thousands of students throughout the years. The business majors weren’t always in Sage Hall and Reeve Memorial Union had a bowling alley in the basement. Each building is named after an individual who has impacted the university in some way. For this 101st homecoming, we look at some of our historic buildings, where they came from and the way they’ve changed over the years.

Check out the top prep performers in Manitowoc and Sheboygan
There was plenty of action to look back on from the past week. Here are the top prep performers from the week of Oct. 12-17 in Manitowoc and Sheboygan counties. There won’t be a set number of players chosen in each sport in a given week, just including performances which stood out and deserve recognition. This means there might be more or less than the week previous. Another criterion is to limit selections to one player per team, per sport. To submit nominations, email Tom Dombeck at tdombeck@htrnews.com by Sunday evening. Volleyball Nora Halverson, Sheboygan Falls: Halverson recorded 16 kills in a 3-0 sweep of Valders on Oct. 13. Marines put a bow on the season by blowing out Sturgeon Bay
STURGEON BAY, Wis. — The Marinette High School football team was clicking on all cylinders as it closed out the 2026 season with a resounding 49-0 win at Sturgeon Bay on Friday. With the win, the Marines wrapped their 2026 season with an overall record of 3-6 and a Packerland Conference record of 2-5. Coming on the heels of the program’s most successful season in over a decade, a 6-4 record and a WIAA playoff berth in 2025, the Marines’ 3-6 record this year may seem like a step back. However, the margin between the two seasons was razor thin, coming down to just a handful of plays as three of the six losses came by a single score margin. Marinette could not halt a fourth-quarter drive by Peshtigo that saw the Bulldogs convert a pair of fourth downs on their way to scoring a game-winning touchdown with just 25 seconds to play. The Marines also allowed a 51-yard game-winning touchdown run in the fourth quarter against Southern Door, and a 73-yard touchdown pass that was the difference during a defensive slugfest at Oconto. Those key moments were the difference between 3-6 and 6-3. On Friday, the Marines put the
