Allen East advances in tournament with 2-1 sections win
COLUMBUS GROVE — Allen East took advantage of a throwing error Wednesday to defeat Columbus Grove 2-1 in a Division III sectional semi-final. The win sends the Mustangs (11-12) to a Division III sectional final contest Friday at Eastwood at 5 p.m.
Hancock Public Health changing lives through continued emphasis on importance of women's health
HANCOCK COUNTY, Ohio — Heather Paul credits Hancock Public Health and its mobile clinic for getting her health back on track. The staff assisted Paul, bringing the mobile clinic and care to her. She said she was having a tough time with mental health, but the mobile clinic encouraged her to take care of herself in a non-judgmental way.
80th Annual Sportsmen’s Club Fishing Derby
Fisherpeople (*notice the political correctness there) descended on the Buckeye Lake Sunday afternoon, under clear skies, for the 80th Annual Bluffton Fishing Derby. They came from a 75-mile radius, some even from beyond. These anglers, angling for prime spots along the bank, also angled to catch some 500 lbs. of tagged trout. (*Tagged to some $4,000 in cash and prizes!)
American Red Cross invites community members to nominate local heroes
FINDLAY, Ohio (WTVG) - The American Red Cross is inviting the public to nominate local heroes who will be honored during a ceremony in October. The Red Cross says residents of Erie, Hancock, Huron, Lorain, Seneca and Wyandot counties can nominate a hero, or heroes, who have shown extraordinary courage, compassion, character or humanity by saving or improving the lives of others.
Parkway rallies to defeat Van Buren
BATH--It isn’t over till it’s over. That was the mindset for Parkway in the division four district semifinal game against sixth seeded Van Buren. This game took over the course of three days because of rain to but the Panthers rallied in the seventh to score two runs to walk off the Black Knights.
