Judge sentences former Prince George's deputy for raping mother of his child to 12 years in prison
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — A former Prince George's County Sheriff's deputy is headed to prison after he raped the mother of his child in October 2022. According to the Office of the State's Attorney for Prince George's County Aisha Braveboy, 37-year-old Brandon Burroughs was sentenced to 20 years in prison, with all but 12 years suspended. Burroughs was found guilty of second-degree rape in February.

WHITE PLAINS, Md. — Charles County detectives are seeking tips related to a report of gunshots that struck a house with young children and adults inside. Investigators say there were no injuries reported after several shots were fired, and one hit a house on Highgrove Drive in White Plains Saturday night.

Firearm Violation: On Thursday, April 11, 2024 Tpr. Miller conducted a traffic stop on a Honda Civic with expired registration in addition to motor vehicle alterations that deemed the vehicle unsafe to drive. The driver was identified as Jefferson Peralta, a 27 year-old-male of Williamsburg, VA. Peralta opened his glove box in search of his registration and a 9mm handgun was observed. After contacting the Maryland State Police Gun Center it was determined Peralta did not possess a Maryland concealed weapons permit. It was also learned that Peralta’s registration came back for another car. Peralta was placed under arrest and charged accordingly.

Concerns are mounting for friends and family of a 15-year-old girl in Charles County who has not been seen since March and may be with her adult boyfriend. An alert was issued by the Charles County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday as they seek the public's assistance in locating Patricia Castro, who was last seen on Thursday, March 28 in the 4100 block of Bluebird Drive in Waldorf.
