    Two injured in two-vehicle accident

    MOUNTAIN IRON—Two Bemidji residents suffered non-life-threatening injuries Friday in a two-vehicle collision at Highway 169 and County Road 7 in Mountain Iron, a St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office news release said.

    Around 9 p.m., a van driven by Joel Douglas Johannsen, 28, of Bemidji was eastbound on Highway 169 near County Road 7 and a car driven by Noah William Kosta, 22, of Britt was westbound. The car was attempting to go southbound onto County Road 7 when it collided with the van, the news release said.

    Johannsen and passenger Kalley Jo Johannsen, 27, of Bemidji were both taken to the Essentia Health Virginia hospital for their injuries. Their 1- and 3-year-old passengers were not injured.

    The driver of the car, Noah William Kosta, 22, of Britt was not injured.

    Road conditions were dry at the time of the crash. All of the individuals in the crash were wearing seat belts.
