BELOIT —The Beloit Memorial Gridiron Club will host the third annual Heineke Classic Scramble Golf Outing on June 28 at 10 a.m. at The Beloit Club.

The Beloit Gridiron Club provides student-athletes and coaches at Beloit Memorial High School with the tools necessary to succeed on and off the field. Operating in a diverse community with limited resources, this fundraising event helps operate a program with proper and safe equipment.

The funds generated are used both by the football program and its partner, Project 16:49, a teen shelter that helps combat teen homelessness in the community.

Individuals may register for the event at a cost of $125 per person which includes golf and a steak dinner, drinks and snacks on the course as well a silent auction, giveaways and raffles. Anyone interested in participating or individuals or businesses willing to be a sponsor for the event may find more information at www.purpleknightsfootball.com or by emailing head coach Brad Dement at bdment@sdb.k12.wi.us.

Registration for the event will be at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Dinner will be at 4 p.m. with auctions/raffles at 4:30 p.m. Among the golf contests during the event will be a longest drive and closest to the pin competition.

Last year, Sarah Ramsden shot a hole-in-one to help her team of Ken Johnson, John Wong and Kai Wong take first place in the four-person scramble with a score of 55, 17-under par and four strokes better than the second-place team.

The football program was able to donate $1,500 to Project 16:49 last year.
