    Baseball roundup: Andy Buckley shines in Turner's 7-2 win over Edgerton

    EDGERTON — The Beloit Turner baseball team used a four-run fifth inning and some stellar pitching from Andy Buckley to take down Edgerton 7-2 and up its Rock Valley Conference Rock Division winning streak up to five games on Tuesday.

    Buckley smacked a two-run double and Carter Jacobson added a two-run single in the big fifth.

    Brayden Ward and Buckley had two of the Trojans’ eight hits as Zack Ries added an RBI single in the first.

    Buckley went all seven innings for Turner (7-4, 5-2 RVC Rock) and allowed just two earned runs on two hits, a single by Bryce Appel and double by Eli Kittleson, while striking out eight.

    Donovan Hatch took the loss for Edgerton as he allowed six runs (one earned) on six hits with six strikeouts.

    The Crimson Tide (2-6, 1-5) committed three errors to the Trojans’ one.

    Walworth Big Foot 20, Clinton 9 — The Chiefs drew a whopping 14 walks, smacked 11 hits and took advantage of five Cougar errors on their way to a huge RVC Rock victory.

    Big Foot (5-8, 3-6) poured on seven runs in the second and eight in the seventh while Clinton’s biggest inning was a three-run second.

    Logan Hendricks led the way for the hosting Cougars (5-6, 2-5) as he went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Evan Henningfeld had three hits and four RBI for the Chiefs while Owen Smith went 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBI. Brady Wojcik added two hits and Konner Glos had four RBI.

    Connor Weeks threw 1 2-3 scoreless innings for Big Foot with four strikeouts as both squads used four pitchers.

    Johnson Creek 15, Orfordville Parkview 1 (5 innings) — The Vikings were limited to just two hits as they fell to 0-13 on the season with the Trailways-South Conference loss to the Blue Jays at ABC Supply Stadium.

    Parkview (0-13, 0-10) fell behind 7-1 after the first inning and 13-1 by the fourth as the game was over via the mercy rule in five innings.

    Geherig Grenawalt and Gage Burrell each hit singles for the Vikings.

    Grenawalt also pitched 4 1-3 innings and allowed eight runs (seven earned) on 10 hits while striking out three Johnson Creek (15-0, 8-0) batters.
