Beloit Memorial's Jaedyn Coleman, Dontavious Olson shine in SLC Relays

LAKE GENEVA, Wis. — Beloit Memorial’s Jaedyn Coleman continued to throw his weight around as he took first place in the discus at the Southern Lakes Conference Relays on Monday with a toss of 139-feet, 2-inches.

Teammate Tucker Sherrod also got in the act, finishing third with a personal record of 129-3. He was 14th in the shot put (38-11.75). Ethan Lulinski had a PR of 38-4.75.

The surprising finish for the Purple Knights came from Dontavious Olson, who competed in the 300 hurdles for the first time and won the event from lane 1 with a time of 42.58 seconds. His time ranks in the top 50 in Wisconsin.

Beloit’s Trey Beasley tied for third in the high jump with a PR of 5-8. He also finished seventh in the triple jump with a PR of 37-11.25.

The Knights were fifth in the distance medley with Aidan Greenlee running the 1600 leg, Armando Gonzalez the 800, Sean Leavy the 1200 and Aidan Donovan the 400. They finished in 12:42.08.

The 800 sprint medley team of Vinson Reed, Brian Cunnigan-Little, Elisha Evans and Caiden Price was sixth (1:49.37). While the 4x200 team of Evans, Cunnigan-Little, Price and Tevin Anderson was fifth in 1:44.45.

The 4x800 team of Jose Luna, Andrew Cafengiu, Brayden Bye and Leonardo Rosas-Floras finished seventh (10:49.65).

Badger won the boys competition with 119 points to hold off Elkhorn (111) and Waterford Union (104). Wilmot Union was fourth (69), followed by Burlington (60), Westosha Central (57), Beloit Memorial (43) and Union Grove (22).

Essence Coleman continued to be the picture of consistency as she again equalled her PR of 5-foot to tie for second place.

Beloit’s 800 sprint relay team of La’Nasia Dubois, Kori Burnett, Coleman and Audrey Mills-Brown finished fifth (2:06.06.) The 4x100 team of Dubois, Naima Brooks, Burnett and Coleman finished seventh (56.45).

The sprint medley team of Naima Brooks, Laila Lee, Jaslyn Gama and Katelyn Kleinschmidt finished sixth in 5:29.99.

Waterford won the girls competition with 106 points, followed by Elkhorn (103), Badger (90), Westosha Central (79.5), Union Grove (64), Burlington (52.5), Wilmot Union (30) and Beloit Memorial (11).
