A Beloit man with multiple warrants out of Dane County receives a signature bond in Rock County after being accused of crashing into a squad car and running off. Assistant District Attorney Cheniqua White argued that cash bond was necessary to ensure Kevin Leffelman returns to court to face charges of hit and run and obstructing an officer, along with a number of traffic citations.
Janesville woman charged with trying to disarm officer while being bit by police K-9
Police say a Janesville woman bit a police officer and tried to take her taser, all while a K-9 Viktos was biting her. 25-year-old Krista Eash is charged in Rock County Court with resisting an officer causing a soft tissue injury, battery to a law enforcement officer, attempt to disarm a police officer, and five counts of felony bail jumping.

Teen accused in multiple burglaries takes plea deal
The Beloit teen accused of burglarizing Robinson Elementary School and Community Health Services in the same night takes a plea deal in Rock County Court. Tuesday morning 19-year-old Jordan Njos plead guilty to two counts of burglary in the two separate cases. An additional charge of theft was dismissed but read into the record.

Janesville Police Department announces new hires
JANESVILLE — The Janesville Police Department has announced the hiring of three police officers and one part time community service officer that started July 22. The three officers were sworn in during a ceremony on July 23. Officer Camden J. Elve is from Sun Prairie. He graduated from Madison Area Technical College with an associate degree in criminal justice in May 2024. He will be attending the Blackhawk Technical College Police Academy in August 2024.
