CPD awarded grant for radar, speed sign; local police will use equipment for safety
The Claxton Police Department has received a $37,578.20 High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS). Funding for this grant is provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and is awarded based upon the partnership with GOHS in helping to reduce crashes and prevent injuries and fatalities across the State of Georgia.

Keep Statesboro-Bulloch Beautiful and the City of Statesboro will again offer their seasonal holiday program “Operation Safe Disposal” for Statesboro residents this year. The program provides residents with a safe alternative to disposing of boxes for TVs, computer gaming systems, sound systems, and other valuables purchased or received during the Christmas holidays. By providing separate waste containers, residents do not have to place such items curbside for potential burglars to see in neighborhoods.
