Pennsylvania lawmaker stepping in to save Popie Redd's barbecue from shutting down
BRADDOCK HILLS, Pa. — Deputies with the Allegheny County Sheriff's Department are expected to serve eviction papers to Popie Redd's barbecue owner Popie Wilson. He hasn't paid rent in more than a year, due to financial hardship brought on by a flood in December 2022. That's when temperatures dropped below zero, causing pipes to burst, and then a flood, causing Wilson to pay more than $20,000 in out-of-pocket costs, mandated by his lease with American Realty.
