How Columbia Academy baseball won first TSSAA championship in six seasons
MURFREESBORO – It was worth the wait for the Columbia Academy baseball program. After six years without a TSSAA baseball state tournament appearance, the Bulldogs returned to Murfreesboro this year and went undefeated, beating Providence Academy 9-4 in the Division II-A baseball championship game at Middle Tennessee State's Reese Smith Jr. FIeld. It marked the program's third state title, winning in 1994, 2018 and this season.
Body of missing Columbia State professor found
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The body of the missing Columbia State Community College (CSCC) professor was reportedly found Monday morning and positively identified, according to CSCC. Clifford Gordon, an associated professor of art, died while on a TNCIS study abroad trip in Brazil with 12 other Tennessee community college students.

SHPD Captain Graduates From School of Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University
The Spring Hill Police Department is pleased to announce the recent graduation of Captain Justin Whitwell from the School of Police Staff and Command (SPSC) at Northwestern University. Captain Whitwell has successfully completed the (22) week Staff and Command program held in Evanston, Illinois from September 11, 2023 – February 25, 2024. This program, which was implemented by the Center for Public Safety in 1983, has graduated over 21,000 students both nationally and internationally. Captain Whitwell was a student in SPSC Class #558 which accommodated a total of 24 students for the 22 week period.
Lynchburg Elementary holds kindergarten graduation
The Lynchburg Elementary School Kindergarten Graduation Program took place on the morning of Thursday, May 16. Opening remarks by Principal Brooke Lindsay were then followed by a welcome from student Kinsley Butler.
