Arlene Blackburn Textile Art Exhibit at the MOarts Gallery
Inspired by her time at the Ghost Ranch in New Mexico and passionate about her family history, Arlene Blackburn, from Union Hall, VA creates unique textile art. Having studied architecture at the University of Florida, she ties in her love of history, landscape, and who inhabits the space. The colors of the Southwest are woven throughout her quilts to honor her time as a traveling resident artist. She “dives deep” into discovering the meanings that lie beneath the surface, which has greatly influenced her most recent works of art. She has received countless awards both nationally and internationally for her creations.
