CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — The West Virginia Department of Health Facilities (DHF) recently announced that the Jackie Withrow Hospital in Beckley earned a four-star rating for Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

These ratings were based on a variety of factors such as facility quality, health inspections, and staffing. These ratings are also based on how much service and care that the patients receive from the staff at the hospital.

Receiving four out of five stars is considered “above average” when it comes to CMS standards and ratings.

Aimee Bragg, Nursing Home Administrator, said that this score is best suited for the team because of all the hard work they put in to ensure the best care for the patients of the hospital. “They care for these patients like they would their own families and these scores are a testament to that hard work.”

“Without this teamwork, we would not have the opportunity to receive this recognition. I am incredibly humbled by the work that our team puts in day in and day out to make sure patients have the best experience possible,” Bragg added.

This hospital provides service to Medicaid-eligible West Virginia residents who can transition into long term nursing home placement. These residents usually have or display symptoms different medical conditions, usually of chronic physical and mental health conditions.
