BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) — A DUI Checkpoint will be held by the West Virginia State Police in the Beckley area of Raleigh County.

The checkpoint will be from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. along U.S. Route 19 about 0.1 mile south of the West Virginia Route 41 (Johnstown Road) intersection on Friday, April 26, 2024.

New details released after remains found in 20-year-old cold case on same day suspect dies

The purpose of the DUI Checkpoint is to discourage people from driving while under the influence, as well as informing the public about the risks of driving while impaired.

Anyone who sees someone driving under the influence can report them to their local West Virginia State Police Detachment, law enforcement agencies, or the Crime Stoppers of West Virginia.
