PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — A Clackamas County deputy and a Beaverton police officer are on leave after a man was shot and killed during a SWAT call Monday night.

According to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Team members responded to a Happy Valley home at around 8:20 p.m. where a man was reportedly barricaded and holding his family hostage.

The initial 911 call was made by family members who said that the man was armed with a knife and had poured gasoline inside the home, officials said.
