VFW Post 539 contest winners announced
The VFW Auxiliary to VFW Post 539 and post members (our Veterans) works to teach our youth the skills to become responsible adults through serving our country, communities, veterans, and service members. We engage youth in positive volunteer experiences and believe every young person can find a place to serve that will improve their lives, as well as the lives they touch.
New Regent Appointed to SSC Board
Governor Kevin Stitt has appointed Teresa Burnett to serve as a Regent for Seminole State College. Her appointment was confirmed by the Oklahoma State Senate Education Committee on May 21. Pending full approval on the Senate floor, she will be sworn in at the July meeting of the SSC Board of Regents.

Henryetta to host junior golf camp May 28-30
Henryetta’s annual summer golf camp will be held May 28-30 at the Henryetta Golf Club. The free program is open to boys and girls from six to 17 years of age. There will be two sessions each day. The first from 8 to 9 a.m. will be for youngsters from six through ten years old. The second session will be from 9-10:30 a.m.
Preston to hold baseball camp June 6-7
The cost is $60 per camper, and a shirt is included. This camp is for s tudent s in Kindergarten t h rou g h 6th grade, and is open to all children in the county. This camp is for young people who want to develop and improve their baseball fundamentals. All skill level campers are welcome, and the coaches and assistants will help each camper in reaching their maximum baseball potential during two, fun-filled days of baseball. This is also a great time for campers to develop a relationship with the PHS high school bas eb a l l play ers and coaches. The camp is from 9 a.m. – 12 noon at the Preston High School Field.
