Two vehicle crash in Cass County kills one
Last Updated on February 25, 2024 by Cass County Sheriff's Office. On Thursday, February 22, 2024 at approximately 12:13 p.m., Cass County Central Dispatch received a call of a two-vehicle personal injury crash at State Road 29 and SR 25 (Tyson Exchange). Deputy David Wells responded to the crash along with several other public safety agencies and deputies. The responding agencies included the Logansport Police Department, Logansport Fire Department and Cass County Emergency Medical Services. Initial scene assessment found an eastbound passenger car on SR 25 was struck by a northbound pickup truck on SR 29.

In January, Purdue student Neel Acharya was found dead near Maurice J. Zucrow Laboratories after being reported missing the night before. Since then, West Lafayette Police Capt. Adam Ferguson said law enforcement across Tippecanoe County has received an influx of phone calls about missing persons from concerned students and locals.

The Purdue women's diving team skillfully spiraled its way to a podium-packed Big Ten Championship this Saturday. The Boilermakers had four divers finish inside the top-10. Junior Sophie McAfee finished ninth overall in the Women’s Platform Dives, keeping her streak of nine-straight top-10 finishes at Big Ten championships alive.

Logansport, IN – Tragic Collision on State Road 29 Results in Fatality
Logansport, IN – A Lafayette woman lost her life in a two-vehicle crash on State Road 29 on Thursday. According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred near the State Road 25 exit ramp to US 24/US 35, when the victim’s vehicle failed to yield to oncoming traffic. The local authorities responded to the emergency call around 12:13 PM, involving multiple public safety agencies. The victim, identified as Cynthia Everly, age 62, was transported to IU Arnett in Lafayette but later succumbed to her injuries.
