BATTLE CREEK — City bragging rights will be on the line in several sports this week as we hit one of the busier stretches of the high school sports calendar.

There are four All-City events scheduled for this week, starting with the rescheduled All-City tennis tournament, which was postponed due to weather earlier this year. If Mother Nature cooperates, the 2024 All-City girls tennis tourney is set for noon on Tuesday at Pennfield High School.

The annual All-City girls soccer tournament will be played at Harper Creek on Saturday, featuring Battle Creek Central, Lakeview, Harper Creek, Pennfield and the Calhoun County/St. Philip co-op team. Play will begin at 9 a.m. with Pennfield vs. Calhoun Christian/St. Philip and Harper Creek vs. BCC. At 11 a.m., Lakeview will play the winner of Pennfield/Calhoun Christian and the two losers of the 9 a.m. games will match up.
