    Police say man shot in Battle Creek, Iowa

    BATTLE CREEK, Iowa (KCAU) — A man was shot in Battle Creek, Iowa Friday morning, officials say.

    According to the Ida County Sheriff’s Office, the Ida County Communications Center received a 911 call at 11:14 a.m. on May 24 about shots being fired in the 300 block of 5th Street in Battle Creek. There, officials found Kevin Lee Blume, 53, of Battle Creek with one gunshot wound.

    Sioux City man accused of ‘machete attacks’ pleads not guilty

    Blume was flown to a hospital in Sioux City, and his current status is unknown. The investigation is still ongoing, but the sheriff’s office said there is currently “no danger to the public.”

    The Iowa DCI, Iowa State Patrol, Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office and more assisted the Ida County Sheriff’s Office.
