Here’s what South Carolina law says. What is reckless driving? When most people picture “reckless driving,” they tend to think about a car speeding down the highway, while crossing lanes haphazardly. However, a person can be considered driving recklessly under South Carolina law if they are driving in a manner that indicates “a willful or wanton disregard” for the safety of others. One way a driver could do so is by impeding traffic under a slow speed, which state law prohibits. “No person shall drive a motor vehicle at such a slow speed as to impede the normal and reasonable movement of traffic except when reduced speed is necessary for safe operation or in compliance with law,” the law states. Nighttime Lane And Ramp Closures Planned On I-20 Westbound

Drivers traveling westbound on Interstate 20 should prepare for nighttime lane closures beginning Sunday, November 1st. Crews will be paving shoulders and ramp connections over the next two weeks, weather permitting. Work will take place nightly from 7 PM to 6 AM, with the right lane closed. Water pouring from break under Columbia road forces closure of Harbison Blvd

A Columbia water line break has closed a portion of Harbison Boulevard Friday afternoon. The city said it was closing Harbison at the intersection of Hill Pine Road and Wood Pond Court while crews work to repair a leak that has sent water pouring out from under the boulevard for at least three weeks. Columbia Water Department also advises that residents in the area make experience disruptions to their water service as the work continues. “Columbia Water staff is presently working to correct the problem as soon as possible,” a service notification said Friday. Drivers are advised to find alternate routes as the water break is repaired. Any water coming from taps after a loss of service should be boiled for at least one minute before use, the water department advised. Video from the scene shot a day earlier showed water pouring out from under the shoulder of the road and flowing down hill to an open storm grate. Water had reportedly been leaking from the area since at least Oct. 11, with greater amounts of water seen flowing from the area as time went on.
