Bath man hits 1,500 days and counting of dad jokes

BATH, N.Y. ( WETM ) – If you drive down Haverling Street in Bath, you may have seen a sign with jokes hanging on someone’s porch for a few years now.

Woody Latour is now on his 1,500th day of putting up these signs for people to enjoy.

He began during COVID, but the positive reactions he received from the signs have kept him going with the signs to this day.

“Today being day 1,500, all the comments are like, it makes my day. It’s a perfect thing for them to wake up to. I’m so happy to keep doing it. I also get jokes from people, people still send me jokes,” said Latour.

Latour’s idea for the signs began when his daughter in South Carolina saw someone down there doing it. She told him she thought it was a good idea and something that he could do, and that’s when he began.

But Latour doesn’t just put signs up when he’s home, he also makes sure to put signs up when he is away from the area.

Latour told 18 News that whenever he has to go out of town, he has a bunch on his back pool table laid out for people to put up for him. He has 30 there right now because he is going on a trip soon.

This preparation makes sure that he will not miss a day.

Latour doesn’t just hang up the jokes on his porch though, he also posts them on his Facebook page , where he has gained traction and had his jokes spread across the world.
